DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — A 24-year-old South Daytona man accused of having baby-rape videos among 15,000 illegal files on his computer was arrested Tuesday and is being held on $300,000 bond at the Volusia County Branch Jail in Daytona Beach.

  • At first, suspect blamed virus for illegal downloads

The FBI is also involved in the case against Tyler Seaman, Daytona Beach police announced Tuesday.

Seaman was charged with 30 counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child.

He is scheduled to appear before a Volusia County judge at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

A judge signed a search warrant November 11 for the child-porn investigation led by Daytona Beach police.

A detective and FBI agent went to Seaman's home on Hickorywood Drive on November 18.

Seaman agreed to speak with the officers, saying he lived and one of the bedrooms and is the only person who uses a computer in that part of the house.

After officers read him his rights, Seaman said the only reason they would find child pornography on his computer is because of a virus, an arrest report says.

He later said he used certain words associated with child porn to search the web for images of "young girls engaged in sex," the report noted.

Seaman estimated he had 10,000 illegal images on his computer because he had been downloading them for a while.

He said admitted seeing images of children as young as 2 engaged in sexual acts, as well as images of animals involvement.

Detectives found as many as 15,000 suspected child porn files, including 1,800 movies.
