PALM BAY, Fla. -- An 18-year-old Brevard County man has been charged in the shooting death of a 17-year-old Palm Bay man early July 18 at a city park.

Palm Bay police charged Hunter Thomas Smiroldo of Barefoot Bay with second-degree murder in the death of Deven Bryan, 17, Palm Bay. 

Police received a call early July 18 that the victim had been shot after a disturbance at Oakwood Park on Koutnik Road, according to Palm Bay Police Lt. Mike Smith.

The victim was transported to Palm Bay Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound.

Detectives arrested Smiroldo on a warrant.

Smiroldo's mother, Patricia Smiroldo, 69, of Barefoot Bay, and sister, Marisa Smiroldo, 25, of Palm Bay were later arrested for accessory after the fact to second-degree murder.

Details about their alleged involvement, as well as other details about the case, were not immediately available.

“As this is an open, on-going case, additional further detail is not available at this time,” Smith said in a statement.
