OCALA, Fla. -- State troopers are seeking tips in a fatal hit-and-run crash early Tuesday on Interstate 75 in Marion County.
- Chevrolet Silverado 1500 hit pedestrian on I-75
- FHP: Truck sustained damage front-end damage
- Fatal crash happened sometime early Tuesday
A male victim from Ormond Beach was killed, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The victim was walking north on I-75 in an “unknown lane” a half-mile south of Mile Marker 328 when he was hit by a vehicle.
The FHP thinks a northbound Chevrolet Silverado 1500 commercial work truck, possibly a 2014 or 2015 model, hit the pedestrian.
According to evidence found at the crash scene, the truck sustained damage to the front-light headlight assembly and right-front fender sections.
“This crash occurred in the early morning hours, exact time unknown,” FHP said in a report.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene.
