RALEIGH, N.C. -- Delta will begin direct flights out of RDU airport to and from Jacksonville, Florida, starting Sept. 7.

Delta Connection carriers will provide the newest service with 69-and-76-seat jets. The all aisle and window seat configuration provides access to WiFi and in-flight streaming services, according to a release from the airline.
Jacksonville is the sixth Florida city to receive a non-stop Delta flight from RDU.
RDU is one of Delta’s largest non-hub airports. The airline provides up to 81 flights per day to 31 destinations. Delta’s presence in the Triangle has more than doubled since 2010 with 20 additional destinations.
In November, Delta announced it would be adding 100 full-time jobs between the Raleigh and Austin, Texas, airports to accommodate their additional flights out of the areas, according to a release from the airline.
