The parade wowed the crowds in St. Cloud as it made its way through downtown. Law enforcement, community leaders and Miss Rodeos from all over.
This parade hasn’t been around for nearly 20 years, however, it’s made its way back for the 75th anniversary of the rodeo in Osceola County.
Chris Fluke who is behind this year’s event became involved with the rodeo when he was a little boy by carrying ice at concession stands. Today he’s the big boss.
Fluke said with the county's growth it’s gotten harder to close down streets for parades like this. Fluke hopes this relaunch can keep the tradition rolling.
“We’re celebrating 75 years of rodeo … That’s how long this club has been involved in this community,” Fluke explained. “It was our grandparents’ generation that started this, and we’re just lucky enough that we get to hold on to that tradition and keep it going for so long.”
Martin said he loves holding on to his heritage and this parade is a reminder of just that.
“The rodeo, livestock and agriculture are part of Osceola County’s DNA,” Martin added. “It's really important that our county and Central Florida recognize and appreciate the 75 years of what the Spurs have done.”
