WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Kali, the Goeldi's monkey that was discovered stolen from the Palm Beach Zoo, has been found safe, according to police.
- Kali was found to be missing on Monday
- Police did not say how the monkey was found
The West Palm Beach Police Department stated on its social media pages that the 12-year-old monkey was found.
Police believe someone stole Kali, who weighs about a pound, at around 1 a.m. on Monday after zookeepers discovered while doing rounds that the mesh on her enclosure had been cut open.
Police are now trying to identify a person they saw on surveillance video walking along the zoo's perimeter Monday.
Zoo officials say people want a monkey like Kali for illegal pet trade.
Officials did not mention how or where Kali was found.
