ORLANDO, Fla. — Imagine getting private piano lessons from a multi-Grammy and Emmy Award winner Harry Connick Jr.
Here are 5 things to know about exactly how you can do that:
1. “Playground Sessions” App
The multi Grammy and Emmy Award winner joins the team of piano teachers with Playground Sessions, an instructional app.
“At the end of the first Playground Sessions instructional video, you'll not be intimidated anymore,” Connick told Spectrum News. “Before you know it, you'll be playing. I don't mean a month ‘before you know it’ -- a day.”
2. Real-time Feedback
The app offers real-time feedback as you’re learning to play.
“When I was a kid, if I could [have sat] down and looked at some sheet music and have the note turn green when I got the note right, or red when I missed the note. That would have been a very valuable tool for me,” Connick said.
3. Exercise Your Brain
This is one of those apps that shows the positive power of the Internet.
“I'm a father of three children and spending all day on Instagram or Snapchat.. I don't think is the most productive thing in the world to do. But if you're exercising your brain and doing something functional that will actually help you in your life and as a person, I'm all for it,” Connick said.
4. Quincy Jones
Playground Sessions was co-created by music legend Quincy Jones. You can choose from nearly 1,000 songs, ranging from The Beatles to John Legend.
