The crash Thursday left seven people dead, including five children riding in a church van heading to Disney World. It was the worst crash of its kind in years.
The four injured children are recovering from serious injuries at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, along with two adults.
A preliminary investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol determined that the crash began when a semitractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle in the northbound lanes of I-75 collided, went through the guardrail and ended up in the southbound lanes. That's where the two vehicles that crossed over hit a church van and another tractor-trailer, then burst into flames.
The investigation into exactly what happened is ongoing.
The Florida Department of Transportation said it's looking into all factors, including road conditions.
The Pentecostals of Gainesville are holding a night of Hope and Healing on Sunday night to pray for those impacted by the tragedy. The event starts at 6 p.m. and will take place off 23rd Avenue in Gainesville.
