According to the Lake County Sheriff's Office, Michael Allen, 50, died after being shot at Grasshopper Lake in Astor Wednesday just after 1 p.m.

Deputies said Allen and his girlfriend, Chrystal Barnett, 33, both from Umatilla engaged in an argument with Aaron Czajkowski, 43, and his wife, Denise Czajkowski, 48, both from Paisley. The Czajkowskis were at the park, near the Ocala National Forest, with their dog.

An argument broke out shortly after Allen and Barnett arrived.

According to Lt. John Herrell, the couples engaged in an argument "over Allen’s parking" near the Czajkowskis' vehicle.

Authorities said the two couples did not know each other.

The argument became physical between the two men and escalated to the point at which they armed themselves and began shooting.

Denise Czajkowski was injured and flown to an area hospital. Michael Allen, who was shot multiple times, died at the scene, Herrell said.

The incident remains under investigation.
