The quest for affordable housing has been making headlines in Florida for years, certainly exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic and a hot housing market. 

Now, Florida lawmakers have passed the “Live Local Act”, which aims to make it easier for local governments and nonprofits to approve and fund affordable housing projects. 

The Act also provides for tax incentives for workforce housing.  What kind of impact will the Act have on affordable housing overall, and will the Act’s provisions provide security for those who have been wondering month to month whether they’ll still have a roof over their heads?
