HIV cases in Central Florida are rising so rapidly, a state lawmaker is calling it a public health crisis (HB  171). New numbers released by the Florida Department of Health show that while Orange County has the third-largest number of new HIV cases, it has the fastest growing rate of new cases between 2015 and 2017, at 22.8 percent. The Florida Department of Health in Orange County is now making a major push to educate people about HIV. This as San Francisco sees a major decline in new HIV cases. They credit its ‘Rapid’ HIV Treatment initiative. We explore that program.
