ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that took place on Sunday night.

At around 11:32 p.m., a woman flagged down a deputy at the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Central Operations building on West Colonial Drive in Orlando, saying that her friend was shot, stated authorities in a press release.

The 29-year-old Black man had at least one gunshot wound to his body and he was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical center, where he died, according to officials.

Authorities determined that the man was shot at the intersection of Texas Avenue and Pine Street in Orlando.

The investigation is ongoing, authorities said.
