The three people's bodies were discovered Friday morning at a home along Sulton Circle.
Amato was thought to be armed and dangerous, and detectives warned if anyone saw him to not approach him, but call authorities right away. Deputies were also looking for a 1996 white Honda Accord DX with a personalized plate of L-1-G-H-7.
Detectives say two men and one woman were found inside different rooms of the home.
"Many times when this occurs, there's no signs, there's no prior report calls that could lead people to believe this could happen again at the location. We had a call that I am aware of back in December of an individual suffering from depression," Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma said Friday.
Detectives said there were weapons in the home that were missing, and deputies were initially called to the home for a well-being check.
A coworker of one of the people found dead called authorities when he did not show up for work.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office tweeted that it assisted in locating Amato.
