OVIEDO, Fla. — Seminole County leaders want to get the word out about businesses that follow best practices when it comes to keeping customers safe amid the coronavirus.

What You Need To Know

  • Seminole focusing on businesses with top safety precautions

  • The video campaign follows requests on business practices

  • A website is in the works, too

Joan Harley has owned Cavallari Gourmet in Oviedo for nearly 15 years. It’s a meat market and specialty grocery store.

As the coronavirus pandemic hit, Joan, as a trained nurse, knew running her business would have to include several safety precautions.

For that effort, Cavallari Gourmet is part of a new Seminole County video campaign to highlight businesses that follow best practices related to coronavirus protection.

Seminole County's emergency manager, Alan Harris, said residents have reached out wanting to know safe places to go.

Harris says it’s not an exhaustive list, but the video segments will give people some options for safe businesses.

Seminole County is also working on a website that will highlight businesses taking the necessary precautions to keep everyone safe.

Customers will also have a chance to comment about their positive experiences at the businesses.
