ORLANDO, Fla. — ICON Park will host a Community Day Celebration this weekend.

The free event, dedicated to promoting community service, will highlight more than 35 nonprofit organizations across Central Florida.
From noon to 6 p.m. on Sept. 30, booths for different organizations will be set up around the entertainment complex, offering visitors an opportunity to learn about each organization’s mission. Some of the nonprofits that will be represented include Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Give Kids the World and The Center Orlando.
Visitors will receive a free event map. If they get stamps from 10 booths, they can purchase tickets for The Wheel for $10 (regular price $29.99).
“This event celebrates our hometown Orlando community and the spirit of our residents,” ICON Park president and CEO Chris Jaskiewicz said in a news release. “Our hope is that guests come out to enjoy an afternoon of fun, learn something new, get a hometown view from sky-high—and perhaps even be inspired to volunteer this upcoming holiday season.”
The Community Day Celebration will also have free activities, photo ops with Orange County Fire Rescue fire trucks and live entertainment on the complex’s lawn, including a performance from the Capoeira Brazilian Pelourinho Martial Arts Academy Orlando.
The U.S. Army will also have its video game truck at the event.
