BAY LAKE, Fla. — A Shetland pony born this week at Disney World is the newest four-legged addition to Cinderella’s royal family.

What You Need To Know

  • Shetland pony born at Disney World this week

  • The foal, born to mom Lady, arrived at the Tri-Circle-D Ranch at 4 a.m. Monday

  • The pony will eventually join the other Shetland ponies that pull Cinderella's carriage

The foal arrived at 4 a.m. Monday at Tri-Circle-D Ranch at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort to mom Lady.

The pony is the second “Cinderella” pony born at the ranch, according to Disney. Sister Lilly was born there in 2019.

At Disney World, the Shetland ponies pull Cinderella’s pumpkin coach for weddings and other special appearances. The newborn pony, which will grow to weigh 450 pounds, will eventually join the others for carriage duty.

For now, she’s spending time in the ranch’s pasture, bonding with mom. Disney says she’ll start leaving her mother’s side in a few weeks as she becomes more independent.

Disney plans to share her name “in the coming weeks.”

The Tri-Circle-D Ranch is home to nearly 100 horses and ponies, including Sprout and Finn — two other Shetland pony foals that arrived this spring.
