The attraction, based on Disney’s “The Princess and the Frog,” will pay homage to New Orleans with a new original song and new musical arrangements of music from the 2009 animated film.

The company revealed Thursday that it is collaborating with award-winning artists PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard on the music that will be featured in the attraction.

Morton, a native of New Orlando and winner of multiple Grammy awards, will compose an original song and create new arrangements of music from the film.

Blanchard, who performed all the trumpet parts for the character of Louis the Alligator in the film, will create a music arrangement for the queue at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

As Disney officials previously said, much of the music will pull from a style of music found in New Orleans called Zydeco, which blends blues, rhythm and blues, and French Creole and Native American music.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will feature a new storyline that’s set a year after the events of the film. Tiana is now the owner of Tiana Foods, which is set in an old salt mine. During Mardi Gras, Tiana, Prince Naveen and Louis will set out on a trip through the bayou to find a “missing ingredient” for a special celebration.

Visitors will join them on this quest and meet several characters, including new ones, along the way. Disney previously said the attraction will include dozens of animatronics, including Mama Odie and a band of critters.

On Thursday, Disney also revealed another character that will be featured in the attraction. Ralphie, Prince Naveen's brother, will shown in one of the scenes playing the drum. Disney released concept of the character.

Walt Disney Imagineers John Dennis, Charita Carter and Ted Robledo recently went to New Orleans for another research trip as work continues on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

The attraction replaces Magic Kingdom’s Splash Mountain, which closed in January, and Disneyland’s version, which closed earlier this week.
