The Disney Fab 50 statues, as they are officially known, were installed at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom in fall of 2021 ahead of the 18-month-long celebration’s kickoff on Oct. 1.
But with the now celebration over, Disney is keeping the statues around for a bit longer. In addition to being photo spots, the statues are interactive. Visitors can trigger sounds by waving their MagicBand+ in front of each one.
As for the rest of the 50th decor, Disney started taking it down over the weekend. On Monday, the large 50th anniversary medallion on Cinderella Castle was gone, making the clock visible again.
Disney will remove the decorative ribbons and other accents from the castle in phases. The castle is expected to keep its current color scheme for the time being.
