As Disney World prepares for the grand opening of TRON Lightcycle Run at Magic Kingdom on April 4, the resort has shared more details about what else it has in store.

The resort will add new character meet-and-greets, debut a new nighttime show at EPCOT and open new dining locations all within the coming months.

Character Meet-and-Greets

Earlier this week, Disney announced a Moana character meet-and-greet will begin at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on April 22, which coincides with both Earth Day and the park’s 25th anniversary.

At EPCOT, Figment will meet park visitors at the Imagination! pavilion starting late summer, and Mickey Mouse and pals will move to the new Communicore Hall.

Over at Magic Kingdom, Mirabel from Disney’s “Encanto” will begin meet-and-greets in Fairytale Garden this fall.

EPCOT Transformation

Opening at EPCOT later this year will be CommuniCore Hall, which will be the center of festival programming. In addition to to being the new character meet-and-greet location, the exhibition space will transform with each festival through the year.

And this fall, Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana will debut at EPCOT as part of the park’ multi-year transformation. The new attractions will be a self-guided exploration trail that takes visitors through the water cycle.

New EPCOT Nighttime Show

EPCOT will be getting a new nighttime spectacular on the World Showcase lagoon. Although Disney hasn’t revealed the show’s name, the company released concept art of it.

The show, set to debut later this year, will include music, pyrotechnics, lasers and lighting. It will also have an original music composition that uses selections from “the Disney songbook,” Disney said.

Before the new show debuts, “EPCOT Forever” will return for the interim on April 3, replacing “Harmonious” which will close on April 2.

New Dining Locations to Open

Disney World will also get new dining locations. Summer House on the Lake, a California-inspired restaurant, is expected to open at Disney Springs later this year. Opening within the space will be The Cookie Jar, a dessert-focused market serving fresh baked cookies and pastries.

The Cake Bake Shop will open at Disney's Boardwalk later this year. 

Disney100 Celebration

The Walt Disney Company kicked off its 100th anniversary at Disneyland Resort in January, and now the celebration will come to Disney World.

EPCOT will host the Disney100 festivities later this year, Disney has announced. More details about what the celebration will entail will be released later.
