Roundup Rodeo BBQ opens March 23 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The new restaurant, located near the entrance of Toy Story Land, puts diners inside a western-themed rodeo that Andy created with his toys and a little bit of cardboard.

Disney invited Spectrum News to a preview of the new restaurant.

At Roundup Rodeo BBQ, diners will be honorary toys. The dining room, divided into two sections, features larger-than-life displays of “Toy Story” characters such as Jessie, Trixie, and Bo Peep and her sheep. The dining room, divided into two sections, also includes cutouts and replicas of game pieces and other toys.

The aesthetic matches the surrounding Toy Story Land, which is set in Andy’s backyard.

The food will also play into the western theme of the restaurant.

“[Andy] has built this incredible rodeo theme, and he’s pulled everything—all of his toys and trinkets. It really lended itself to that barbecue-style of food,” said chef Brian Piasecki, culinary director of concept development at Disney World. “It’s also very family-oriented. Very reminiscent of a gathering and everyone coming together.”

The menu is filled with classics such as brisket, ribs and Mac & Cheese—but with a Disney twist. Items have themed names such as the Rootin’ Tootin’ Tomato Salad, There’s a Sausage in My Boot pork sausage, or the Cowpoke Corn on the Cob.

“We had a lot of fun with the names,” Piasecki said.

It’s served family-style, which at Disney means that platters of food are brought to diners’ tables. First, diners will be served cheddar biscuits with sweet pepper jelly and three different types of salads. They will then be brought a platter of smoked meats and a choice of four sides of the eight that are available. Each diner will also get a choice of dessert.

The restaurant also offers the option of a plant-based platter instead of a smoked meat platter. It comes with smoked cauliflower, Impossible rib chop and plant-based bratwurst.

Soft drinks and iced tea are included with the meal, however, the menu has cocktails and mocktails available at an additional cost. Cocktails include a Snake Eye Margarita, Grown-up’s Iced Chocolate Rum and Rattler Rum Punch. For younger diners, there’s Molly’s Frozen Iced Tea and the Partysaurus Tex.

The meal is priced at $45 for adults and $25 for children.

Roundup Rodeo BBQ, which is already accepting reservations, will be open for lunch and dinner service.
