The division, which includes Universal Orlando Resort in Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood in California in its portfolio, announced Wednesday that it will become “Universal Destinations & Experiences” to better reflect “the full breadth of offerings Universal brings to fans around the globe.”

In a news release, Universal said the name change also highlights how the company is “diversifying” its offerings to include “entertainment, culinary, gaming and consumer product experiences.”

“Universal Destinations & Experiences aligns with our aspiration to be the Destination of Choice in the markets where we are today and the markets we enter in the future,” chairman and CEO Mark Woodbury said in a statement. “We are thrilled to expand how we bring the Universal brand to life in new, immersive and compelling ways for fans around the world using our rich collection of stories, characters and franchises.”

In January, the division revealed plans to build a “family-focused” theme park concept in Frisco, Texas. The 30-acre regional-style park will feature attractions, interactive shows and character meet-and-greets across themed lands.Universal also previously announced plans for a year-round, horror-centric experience in Las Vegas as an extension of its popular Halloween Horror Nights.

Last month, Universal opened Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood. The land, the first in the U.S., features mini-games, a themed restaurant and a Mario Kart ride.

Another Super Nintendo World is planned for Universal’s Epic Universe theme park in Florida. The park, currently under construction, is expected to open in 2025.

The parks business remains a profitable one for Comcast. In the latest earnings report, the company said its parks generated $2.1 billion in revenue in the fourth quarter as it continued to see higher attendance and guest spending.
