What You Need To Know
- Roundup Rodeo BBQ set to open at Disney's Hollywood Studios in spring 2023
- The restaurant, first announced in 2019, will be located in Toy Story Land
- It will feature a western theme and serve barbecue-inspired comfort foods
The table-service restaurant, under construction near the front of Toy Story Land, is now scheduled to open in spring of 2023, the resort announced Wednesday.
This marked the first time Disney has shared an update about the restaurant since announcing in January that it would open later this year.
The updated opening timeline was shared in a post on the official Disney Parks Blog along with new details about the restaurant and images providing a first look inside.
“Using his imagination, Woody’s Roundup toys, and other playthings, Andy has built a rodeo restaurant for all his pals,” Disney described in the post.
The restaurant, first announced in 2019, will feature a western theme as well as Jesse, Bo Peep and other characters from the “Toy Story” films.
Disney said Imagineers worked with designers from Pixar Animation Studios to design figures and artwork used in the restaurant. Part of the dining ceiling will feature comic strips about Woody’s adventure that were designed by the team.
As for the food, Disney hasn’t released a full menu yet, however it said the restaurant will offer “barbecue-inspired comfort foods” such as house-smoked meats, sides and desserts served family-style.
Roundup Rodeo BBQ will become the second dining location at Toy Story Land after Woody’s Lunchbox, which offers counter service.
