With an update expected to launch next week, Disney says it’s simplifying the process of modifying Lightning Lane selections. Visitors will soon be able to modify an existing selection without first having to cancel it and rebook.
They will be able to search for other Lightning Lane experiences and times prior to modifying their existing selection. Visitors also will be able to make changes to their party size during modification.
The update does not apply to Individual Lightning Lane purchases, which are made separately from the Genie+ service.
Disney said the decision behind the change was based on feedback from guests.
The change will appear in the My Disney Experience and Disneyland mobile apps for both Android and IOS users after they are updated.
Genie+ first launched late last year, replacing the FastPass+ system Disney World and MaxPass at Disneyland.
Since its release, Disney has made a number of changes to the system. In October, Genie+ switched to a variable pricing system, with prices being higher during holidays and peak periods. Previously, the service was a flat fee of $15 per person per day at Disney World and $20 per person per day at Disneyland.
