IAAPA Expo, the annual gathering of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions returns to the Orange County Convention Center on Nov. 14.
Companies from around the world will be in attendance to show off the latest innovations in the hospitality and tourism industry. The expo’s trade show floor will feature everything from food and concessions to ride models, games and virtual reality.
It’s expected that nearly 1,100 exhibitors will be in attendance this year, a 25% increase over 2021, according to IAAPA. Last year’s expo was the first in-person gathering since 2019.
In addition to displays on the show floor, the expo will feature dozens of news conferences from various attractions companies, including those with a Central Florida presence.
SeaWorld Orlando is scheduled to share details about its upcoming surf coaster, Pipeline, on Tuesday. Other companies scheduled to share news and updates include Ripley’s Believe It or Not! and ICON Park.
The expo also includes education sessions and panels. On Wednesday, the event will hold its annual Legends panel. Titled “Legends 2022: EPCOT, 40 Years in a State of Becoming,” the session will be hosted by Bob Rogers of BRC Imagination Arts. The panelists will include Rick Rothschild of FAR Out! Creative Direction, EPCOT VP Kartika Rodriguez, and Walt Disney Imagineering’s Jodi McLaughlin and Bob Weis.
“IAAPA Expo in Orlando continues to be the premier showplace for the latest innovations to create fun and make memories for our industry,” IAAPA president and CEO Hal McEvoy said in a statement this summer. “This is also an important event for connecting, sharing best practices, hearing from the industry’s top leaders and experts and working on your professional development needs.”
IAAPA Expo runs through Friday, November 18.
