ORLANDO, Fla. — MagicBand+ will launch at Disney World on July 27, the resort announced Thursday.

The wearable device, an upgraded version of the original MagicBand, also has a number of new features, including color-changing lights, haptic vibrations and gesture recognition. It also comes with a rechargeable battery.
With the band, visitors can unlock interactive experiences throughout the parks. One of the new experiences is the Disney Fab 50 Quest. Visitors can use the device to interactive with the golden Fab 50 statues located in all four parks by waving their hand, which will prompt different reactions.
Visitors will also be able to use the band for the new Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. They will be able to earn galactic credits while uncovering bounties throughout Black Spire Outpost.
MagicBand+ will also light up and vibrate in sync with “Disney Enchantment” at Magic Kingdom and “Harmonious” at Epcot. The device will also interact with the Beacons of Magic at the parks.
Even though MagicBand+ comes with new features, it still has the same capabilities as the original MagicBand, including park entry and PhotoPass.
Prices for MagicBand+ will start at $34.99 and there will be more than 25 designs available.
The device will be available to purchase at select stores across Disney World, including the Emporium at Magic Kingdom, Pin Traders - Camera Center at Epcot, Celebrity 5 & 10 and Tatooine Traders at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Discovery Trading Company at Disney Springs.
MagicBand+ is also planned for Disneyland Resort in California and will launch “later this year,” according to Disney.
