The small shop, located near Mel’s Drive-In, is scheduled to close on June 26.
In a statement to Spectrum News, Universal said the closure is to “make way for a new retail experience.”
Williams of Hollywood, which first opened in 2015, has a variety of vintage items for sale, including set pieces from former attractions, movie props, posters and costumes. The shop’s inventory, which is restocked often, also includes comic books, license plates, old cameras, and items from seasonal events such as Halloween Horror Nights.
The shop is the latest offering at Universal Studios to close. Earlier this year, Shrek 4-D permanently closed after 18 years of operation. Most recently, the resort closed the park’s Monsters Cafe to make way for a new dining experience.
Universal hasn’t officially announced what will replace Shrek 4-D or Monsters Cafe, but construction walls surrounding both locations feature Minion characters.
As for what’s replacing Williams of Hollywood, Universal officials said details will be shared in the coming months.
