ORLANDO, Fla. — Sports Illustrated is getting into the tourism industry with plans to open a line of “premium” lifestyle resorts, including one in Orlando.

​New York-based Authentic Brands Group LLC, which owns the Sports Illustrated brand, is developing the resorts with ADMI Inc. and Experimental Ventures Hospitality LLC.

The resorts will offer a variety activities including live action sports, dining, entertainment and wellness/relaxation options.

The Orlando version of the Sports Illustrated Resort is set to open in 2024, according to the company. The announcement didn’t say where in Orlando the resort will be built.

“We are excited to expand Sports Illustrated in such a thrilling and interactive way, engaging travelers, families and sports fans like never before,” Authentic Brands Group executive vice chairman Dan Dienst said in a statement. “ADMI’s vision for Sports Illustrated Resorts is to create a portfolio of immersive lifestyle properties that will become go-to destinations for individuals and families seeking active vacation experiences.”

The first Sports Illustrated Resort is set to open in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic later this year. In addition to Orlando, other resorts are also planned for other parts of the U.S. including Hawaii.
