The revised policy, which takes effect Friday, will apply to all visitors and employees regardless of vaccination status.
Masks will be required in all public indoor areas, including restaurants, shops, and indoor hotel public areas, according to the update safety guidelines.
“Face coverings are also required at all attractions from the moment guests enter the queue to when they exit the experience,” Universal said.
In May, Universal dropped the its mask rules for vaccinated visitors—no longer requiring them to wear masks indoors or outdoors. In July, after the CDC released new guidance about masks, Universal said it would "encourage" visitors to wear them indoors but not require them to.
The latest policy change comes amid growing concerns about the Omicron variant and rising COVID-19 cases in the U.S. and Florida.
The change also comes as Central Florida theme parks see crowds return for the holidays.
Universal joins Disney World which already requires its guests ages 2 and older to wear face masks indoors. SeaWorld Orlando recommends but does not require visitors to wear masks indoors.
