ORLANDO, Fla. — Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, the interactive, two-night hotel experience, will open next year at Disney World.

What You Need To Know

The experience will feature activities such as lightsaber training, allowing Star Wars fans to live out their own Star Wars stories.

Over the weekend, Disney shared a peek at what the lightsaber training will be like on board the Halcyon starcruiser.

A video played during a Destination D23 presentation on Saturday featured Disney Parks, Experiences and Products chairman Josh D’Amaro experiencing the training for himself.

While visiting the starcruiser, D’Amaro also spent time at the ship’s bridge, where guests will be able to take the ship into hyperspace. The bridge will also feature buttons that will let guests control the ship as well as defend it.

During the presentation, D’Amaro took a moment to show off the “real” lightsaber Disney has been developing.

“It is real,” D’Amaro said to the crowd.

While the “real” lightsaber will be part of the Galactic Starcruiser experience, guests won’t be using it.

Disney lists sample pricing for Galactic Starcruiser. For two guests in a standard cabin, the rates start at $1,209 per person per night or a total of $4,809. For three guests in a standard cabin (that’s two adults and one child), the rates start at $899 per person per night or a total of $5,299.

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser opens March 1 and is booked up through the end of June, according to the website.
