  •  Holiday decorations are up at Disney World, Universal Orlando

  • The parks will kick off their holiday season this month

With holiday events and celebrations set to begin this month, Disney World, Universal Orlando and others are transforming their parks for the season.

At Magic Kingdom, the change happened literally overnight—just like in years past. After the park closed on Sunday, a team arrived to remove all the Halloween and fall-themed decorations and replace them with holiday décor. Main Street, U.S.A. now features oversized bows, garland, Mickey Mouse-shaped wreaths and a massive Christmas tree.

The park’s Jungle Cruise attractions has also received its holiday overlay, transforming into the Jingle Cruise.

The holiday touches have already appeared at the other Disney parks. A few weeks ago, the first bit of Christmas decorations were installed at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. More decorations has been added since then, including ornaments in Echo Lake and a large Christmas tree.

Some of the holiday decorations at Disney World also have “EARidescent” touches in celebration of the resort’s 50th anniversary celebration which kicked off last month.

Disney World’s holiday celebration will begin Nov. 12.

Over at Universal, Christmas has arrived at its Islands of Adventure park. Holiday decorations have been installed in the park’s Port of Entry area as well as Seuss Landing and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter-Hogsmeade.

Universal previously shared details about its upcoming holiday celebration, which starts Nov. 13. The festivities will include the return of the holiday parade and Mannheim Steamroller at Universal Studios Florida, while Islands of Adventure will see the return of The Frog Choir in Hogsmeade.

Meanwhile, SeaWorld Orlando’s Christmas Celebration will begin Nov. 12, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay’s Christmas Town will return Nov. 12 and Legoland Florida’s holiday event kick off Nov. 26.
