ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Disney’s Animal Kingdom has welcomed a baby rhinoceros.

A male white rhino calf was born at the theme park on Sunday to mother Kendi, Disney announced in a blog post.
A rhino calf can weigh up to 140 pounds at birth, Disney said.
The baby rhino, which has not yet been given a name, is nursing and bonding with his mother backstage. The two will stay backstage for the next several weeks before joining the rest of the herd on Kilimanjaro Safaris.
Two other rhinos at Animal Kingdom are expecting, Disney said. Jao is due in the fall of 2021, while Lola is expected to give birth in fall/winter of 2021.
White rhinos are an endangered species with a near-threatened status.
