ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando Magic rookie forward Tristan da Silva and two-way guard Mac McClung are headed to San Francisco to compete in the Rising Stars tournament at NBA All-Star Weekend on Friday, Feb. 14-16.

Da Silva has played in 44 games and started in 34 so far this season for Orlando (34 starts). He is averaging 8.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists and shooting 84.1% from the free-throw line in 26.3 minutes per game. He has led or tied the Magic in scoring three times, in rebounding twice and in assists three times and has scored in double figures 15 times and at least 20 points three times.

McClung signed a two-way contract with Orlando on Sep. 19, 2024. He has played and started in nine games during the regular season with Osceola of the NBA G League, averaging 23.4 points, 6.2 assists and 3 rebounds in 33.5 minutes per game. He also played and started in 14 games during the NBA G League Tip-Off Tournament with Osceola, averaging 17.4 points, 4.7 assists and 3.7 rebounds in 31.7 minutes per game. McClung has won the Slam Dunk contest at NBA All-Star Weekend in 2023 and 2024.

In all, 13 other Magic players have participated in the Rising Stars competition.

The Rising Stars is a one-night tournament on 14 NBA, featuring four rosters of seven players each. Teams will play semifinal games where the first to 40 points wins; those semifinal winners will then play in a championship game, with the winning team being the first one to 25 points.

The second-year players selected to compete in the Rising Stars are the San Antonio Spurs' Victor Wembanyama, Washington Wizards guard/forward Bilal Coulibaly, Toronto Raptors guard/forward Gradey Dick, Utah Jazz guard Keyonte George, Portland Trail Blazers guard Scoot Henderson, Golden State Warriors forward Trayce Jackson-Davis, Miami’ Heat guard Jaime Jaquez Jr., Dallas Mavericks center Dereck Lively II, Charlotte Hornets guard Brandon Miller, Houston Rockets guard Amen Thompson and Oklahoma City guard Cason Wallace.

The other rookies picked for Rising Stars were Wizards teammates Alex Sarr, a center/power forward, and Bub Carrington, a guard; Spurs guard Stephon Castle; Memphis Grizzlies teammates Zach Edey, a center, and Jaylen Wells, a forward; Los Angeles Lakers forward/guard Dalton Knecht; Philadelphia 76ers guard Jared McCain; New Orleans Pelicans center Yves Missi; and Atlanta Hawks forward Zaccharie Risacher, the No. 1 pick in the 2024 draft. McCain is injured and will likely be replaced by the NBA.

The fourth team in the Rising Stars will be composed of G League players. In addition to McClung, the other G League players include guard JD Davison of the Maine Celtics, guard/forward Bryce McGowens of the Rip City Remix, forward Leonard Miller of the Iowa Wolves, guard/forward Dink Pate of the Mexico City Capitanes, guard Reed Sheppard of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers and guard Pat Spencer of the Santa Cruz Warriors.

The winning team in the Rising Stars tournament will be the fourth team in the All-Star Game, alongside three teams of NBA players.
