VIERA, Fla. — You’ve seen strong men before. But there’s a guy who takes strength to an “extreme” level in Brevard County.

Here is what to know.

1. The Space Coast State Fair is in town, and one of its popular acts is put on by Alfonso Cuvillos. He is a fifth-generation entertainer who used to be a contortionist.

2. Eight years ago, he watched a video of a strongman act. “I practiced, practiced, practiced, and I did it,” he said, beaming. “My mom said, ‘Don’t do this, son!’”

3. But he did anyway, meaning he pulls off stunts that may seem unthinkable. He pulls a Ford Bronco with his teeth. He uses his head to hammer a nail into wood. He juggles tires.

4. “You do something people like and you don’t want to stop,” he said. Alfonso performs his Xtreme Strong Man Show at the Fair not once, but several times a day.

5. The Space Coast State Fair is across from the Space Coast Stadium in Viera. Alfonso’s show is included with admission. The fair goes through Nov. 17.
