ORLANDO, Fla. — A 13-year-old girl found unresponsive in a pool at Discovery Cove on Wednesday has died, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to Discovery Cove just before 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday after the girl was discovered.

She was transported to the hospital in critical condition, where she later died, officials reported Thursday.

The sheriff’s office has not released any other details at this time, while deputies continue to investigate. 

Discovery Cove is a theme park owned and operated by United Parks & Resorts, and is the sister park of SeaWorld Orlando and Aquatica Orlando.
