ORLANDO, Fla. -- Universal Orlando recently made changes to the locker system at both its parks.
- Universal updates locker system at parks
- New lockers include small and large sizes
- Larger lockers come with a $2 charge per use
The resort debuted new lockers near several of its attractions.
The lockers are located at Revenge of the Mummy, Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, Men In Black: Alien Attack, Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts and Dudly Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls.
To use the new lockers, guests scan their Universal park ticket. Previously, guests had to scan their fingers. The change is to provide a "better, faster more seamless experience for guests," a Universal spokesperson said.
The new lockers also come in two sizes: small, or standard size, and large. The smaller lockers are still free to use for the duration of the ride and can accommodate keys, purses, cell phones and wand boxes.
However, the larger lockers, which can accommodate oversized items such as popcorn buckets and backpacks, are $2 per use.
Because Universal doesn't alllow loose items on many of its attractions, guests with larger items will likely finding themselves having to pay.
Universal does offer a free package pickup service. Items will be delivered to the front of the park so you don't carry them around the parks.
