Here's what you need to know about Central Florida's weather for the rest of the work week:

  • Heating up into the weekend
  • Very little rain on the way

The warming trend continues today for Central Florida with many neighborhoods pushing into the upper 80s. A very isolated shower is possible during the afternoon but overall the day will be dry.

Skies will be mostly sunny with a few fair-weather clouds. Tonight will be mild with any evening showers dissipating early; skies will be partly cloudy overnight as lows drop to the upper 60s.

As temperatures heat up to near 90 inland, that will send many people toward the beaches. Swimmers should be advised that the rip current threat is moderate today. Wave heights of 2 to 3 feet are expected nearshore with a moderate chop on the Intracoastal.

Friday will feature highs around 90 degrees with a slightly better chance of afternoon showers inland.

This weekend, high pressure will remain in control of our weather keeping this stagnant pattern in place with mostly dry conditions and highs near 90. There may be enough moisture available for afternoon showers by Monday and Tuesday.

The extended forecast shows a cold front may approach by the middle of next week with an elevated threat of rain by next Wednesday.
