The senior catcher is on pace to break the school’s RBIs, home runs, hits and walks career records.

She also helped lead the Montverde Eagles to their first softball state title last season.

Eagles head coach Kahley Armstrong says it’s a privilege to coach her.

“She’s a power five player, there’s a difference between a division one player and a power five player," said Armstrong. "She’s going to throw somebody out that normal catchers are not going to throw out."

Spinogatti is taking her talents to the ACC after this season, where she’ll play for Florida State University.

Before committing to FSU, Danika struggled during the start of her junior year.

It was pressure to perform that she had to overcome.

“I let all of pressure of actually get to committed get to me and that affected me playing. I would freeze looking at the ball and just my playing went downhill,” she said.

During practice, Spinogatti wears a pair of special gloves with a red spiderweb design all over them.

Just like her favorite superhero, the Eagles' all-state catcher just kept swinging.

“I love Spider-Man! I’m obsessed," said Spinogatti. "Just have to learn to go back to the basics. People are going to be watching you, people are going to be looking at you and you just have to realize that you can’t let what other people think affect your playing.”

With the cobwebs out of her head, Spinogatti is focused on the ultimate goal: finishing out her career by winning back-to-back state titles for Montverde Academy.
