ORLANDO, Fla. — The First Academy girls' basketball team is on a roll this season.
For the first time since the mid-2000's, the Royal went on a 10-game winning streak.
The First Academy's success starts with their sophomore point guard, who is a workaholic.
“I love to do it," said Bianca Hall. "My dad has been in the gym since I was young. I just love being in the gym, working on different things to get better.”
The sophomore is a sponge for basketball knowledge.
Bianca feels she has a good teacher: her dad and head coach Kevin Hall.
“He always knows the right thing to say to get us to snap back into it. And for me, he always challenges me on the court," said Hall. "He knows to what to say to challenge me when I’m having a bad game."
The Hall's share the same birthday and an unbreakable bond.
So far this season, the father-daughter duo has been on fire.
Bianca is averaging 18 points per game while shooting 48% from the field.
But the point guard feels she can be playing even better.
“I’ve been sick for the past couple of months," said Hall. "For me, I love to be in the gym practice and stuff been a struggle for me.”
Bianca has been battling the flu all-season long and has missed three games this year because of it.
The Royals’ leader is willing to do whatever for her team, even if it’s shouting out commands from the sideline.
“We can be really good, we have all the pieces," said Hall. "We have a point guard, shooters and big, if we all just come together and do all the little things we’re supposed to do, we can be really good.”
Bianca Hall can defiantly put the ball in the basket.
Once her conditioning comes back, she says the sky is the limit.
