ORLANDO, Fla. — It was a slow first half for both teams, but a turnaround for Florida State in the second half gave the Nole’s a week one top ten win 45-24 over LSU at Camping World Stadium.

Head Coach Mike Norvell and his Florida State team were able to get the focus back in the second half and lock in, making in for a great night.

“Told the guys at halftime and both sides did a remarkable job in how they responded to that but you know just and that second half minutes that was a glimpse of where what I think this team can do and where I think it can go,” said Norvell. “But there are a lot of things that we’re going to clean up after.”

In an offense that looked different from in the first half. A combination of all the guys being on the same page for quarterback Jordan Travis and his offense, all starting with the offensive line up front.

“The offensive line stepped up starts up front every single time,” said Travis, who had 5 total touchdowns versus LSU. “They stepped up that second half and made it easy for me. So I’m grateful for them.”

And to be able to do this in their first game in front of thousands of FSU fans, a top ten matchup makes the whole thing even more special.

“That atmosphere, our crowd, our fans. Unbelievable job. You know, that was, it was an electric atmosphere that we got to play in,” said Coach Norvell. “Oh, you know, it’s great to be able to be here in our home state and, you know, to see such a such a wonderful turnout and just the energy in that in that game, it had a championship type feel to it then, you know. I thought it was just a great experience for our players.”

FSU is at home on Saturday, Sept. 9, against Southern Miss.
