ORLANDO, FLA -- A hot mid-July morning in Orlando might be a little too intense for most.

For EJ Dunston, it makes him feel right at home.

“It’s something that I always thought about and I pushed myself to get it done this summer. Looking at the turnout for my first one, it’s definitely going to be consistent every year.”

The Edgewater alum now associate head coach holds his first '9-5 Skills Camp' at his alma mater.

“I couldn’t see myself at another high school. It means the most to me. I bleed red and white, literally and figuratively.”

He has all of the credentials you want in a mentor. After a star-studded stint at Edgewater, he was a four-year starter at UCF on the defensive line. He capped his career with a 2014 Fiesta Bowl Championship.

Instead of focusing on his past, he is putting all his effort into the future of his campers.

“This is your life. You’re either going to work at this or work a 9-5 for real for real. Any time you step on the field or do something, attack it like it’s your 9-5. Attack is like it’s your job.”

That's what he made sure was done. Campers focused on football measurables like the famed 40-yd dash and broad jump. Instructors focused on 1-on-1 battles and technique while serving as a mentor in as many ways possible.

EJ and Edgewater opens play in the kickoff classic September 19 vs. Seminole.
