SANFORD, Fla. — Seminole High School’s football team is the defending 8A champ and looking to repeat. Two of the reasons why they may do that is because of the play of the Henderson twins.
What You Need To Know
- Demari and Jacari Henderson are highly recruited
- They are both committed to the University of Central Florida
But before the season came to an end, the highly recruited duo decided where they wanted to play next year.
"We have committed to the University of Central Florida," says Demari Henderson. "I felt like it was home, a good choice for me, a good fit for me."
"UCF is the place to be, that is why we committed there," says Jacari Henderson. "Why go out of state when you can do the same thing in state."
One of the other reasons they selected UCF is because of the experience that Head Coach Gus Malzahn and Defensive Coordinator Travis Williams bring to the game.
"Them dudes came from Auburn, so they know what they are talking about and now they are in the Big 12," says Demari Henderson.
They are not the only players on the defensive side of the ball from the Sanford high school that have committed to UCF; linebacker Kameron Moore made his decision in August.
"We always talked about playing college football with my brother Kam, we have been out here since we were 4 or 5 on the sideline being ball boys," says Demari Henderson. "We have been talking about if we get the chance to play college football together we are going to do it."
With their decision, they are happy to have the process of recruiting is over.
"It just felt good to get it out of the way so you can just focus on playing football," says Jacari Henderson. "We are getting ready for playoff season, you don’t want to be on the phone all day every day trying to figure out where to go. We just want to focus finishing this season out and getting another ring."
