DAYTONA BEACH, FLA -- Make a left over the bridge in your '84 Sheep Dogs.
Throw another shrimp on the barbie and order a couple bowls of loud-mouth soup.
Friday night was no ordinary game inside Jackie Robinson Ballpark. The chanes of the Daytona Tortugas playing the St. Lucie Mets on Dumb & Dumber Night, one in a million.
“We have 70 home games over the course of the summer so each night we’ve got to give our fans a reason to come to the ballpark," Team President Ryan Keur said. "So we saw it was going to be the 25th anniversary of Dumb & Dumber.”

- Players wore 'blue tuxedo' jerseys
- Fans competed in competitions related to the movie
On this night, everything was dumbed down to Harry and Lloyd's liking. The Tortugas traded in their typical green and white uniforms for the famed baby blue tuxedos.
That alone was enough to get a strong crowd out to the ballpark.
“Tonight we saw a nice boost in our group areas, our individual ticket buyers," Keur said. "They want to see exactly what Dumb & Dumber night was going to be like here at the ballpark.”
That brough in more money than Mary Swanson's brief case. Of course the jerseys were just the start.
Trivia games, 'mockingbird duets', and an atomic pepper challenge highlighted the evening.
“There’s so many quotes that we’re going to say away from tonight but yeah that’s what popped into our heads is how can we make this night as fun as possible,” said Anderson Rathbun, the team's business development manager.
The hype hit well before the first pitch. Social media buzzed upon the Tortugas announcement and teaser videos.
“To interact with the fans, toss some jokes in between fans on Twitter or Instagram," said play-by-play broadcaster Justin Rocke. "It’s just part of the minor league experience that makes it so fun.”
Like the movie, Daytona didn't catch their break. The Mets defeated the Tortugas 7-1. Daytona currently sits six games back of first place in the Florida State League North Division.
So you're telling me there's a chance.
