LAKE BUENA VISTA -- The time was ticking down for Orlando City in the passing challenge, the final contest in the MLS All-Star Game's Skills Competition. The visitors from Atletico Madrid had secured a sizable lead by hitting the crossbar of the goal from midfield in the challenge, a shot worth 25 points. Like the end of a game, Orlando City's trio of Sebas Mendez, Chris Mueller and All-Star Nani were throwing everything they had at the net.

That is normal when trailing or tied late in a game. The result was something different.

As time expired, Nani fired his kick toward the net, hoping to clip the crossbar and secure his team the victory. As the ball hit the bar and the buzzer sounded, his two teammates surrounded and hugged him, leaving their Spanish visitors in shock during the exhibition event at Disney's Wide World of Sports.

Orlando City's hunt for the playoffs continue and the team has a major U.S. Open Cup semifinal match at home next week, but the team can at least take home one trophy.

The Lions ended up providing much of the highlights from the night during the contest which featured three competitions -- a shooting contest, where the teams had to break targets to record points, the touch and volley contest where players would receive a pass and shoot after controlling the ball, and the passing competition, which devolved into the teams trying to hit the crossbar from midfield to score the most points.

Orlando City's second-year player Chris Mueller scored a crazy goal in the touch and volley contest, collecting a cross from Nani and shooting while falling to the ground for the goal and the points for Orlando City.

The team from Atletico Madrid featured teenage superstar Joao Felix. He nearly secured the win for Atletico Madrid with his own buzzer beating volley that hit the crossbar in the passing contest.

He will lead Atletico Madrid against the MLS All-Star team, featuring superstars like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Wayne Rooney and Orlando City's own Nani, on Wednesday at Exploria Stadium.

Earlier in the day, the MLS Homegrown team defeated Chivas de Guadalajara's U-20 team in penalty kicks. Both teams scored within the first three minutes of the game. The MLS Homegrown stars though needed a stoppage-time goal from Toronto FC's Noble Okello to tie the game at two.

In penalty kicks, the Homegrown stars stood tall and swept the shootout 3-0.
