"Congratulations to the entire crawler team, and the crawler, you are all officially amazing," said Hannah Ortman of the Guinness World Records told the crowd at the Kennedy Space Center on Wednesday.

Weighing in at some 6.65 million pounds, it is responsible for transporting the space agency's Space Launch System rocket and Orion spacecraft to Pad 39-B for Artemis moon missions.

Crawler workers like Sam Dove, a 35-year veteran of the program, were presented with a plaque that will be showcased on the giant transporter.

"Just to be part of that is pretty amazing, we really appreciate them recognizing the crawler," Dove told Spectrum News.

The crawler will take Artemis II to the pad, scheduled for late 2024.
