Fire officials are warning people to stay away from remaining ice on local bodies of water due to the warmer temperatures causing ice to melt rapidly.

The warning comes just days after several recent rescues.

Firefighters at the Hamlin Morton Walker Fire District rescued a pair of kayakers who got stuck in an ice jam on Sandy Creek on Saturday.

On Monday, the Lake Shore Fire Department says it was called to two separate cases of people falling through the ice at Braddock Bay. They say the first group of people were able to get themselves out. Firefighters had to rescue two others from the icy water.

According to fire officials, no ice is safe ice right now.
