Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg officially filed to run for the Democratic nomination in Arkansas.
"We must defeat Trump. He has failed us at every turn," Bloomberg tweeted Tuesday afternoon.
Bloomberg advisers said last week that he was considering getting into the race, claiming the candidates currently in the running where not equipped to defeat President Donald Trump.
Bloomberg has said he has grown concerned about former Vice President Joe Biden's chances and the rise of Sen. Elizabeth Warren as a frontrunner.
Bloomberg filed in Arkansas ahead of that state's deadline to appear on the ballot on March 3, when 15 states will hold primaries on Super Tuesday. Bloomberg's advisers say it makes more sense to focus on Super Tuesday since the other candidates have inundated early primary states Iowa and New Hampshire.
