TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida will have its first Hispanic woman in the role of lieutenant governor as Jeanette Nunez is being honored among others during a special breakfast.

The Women for Florida Leadership Breakfast honored and incoming first lady Casey DeSantis Nunez on Monday morning.
"The Women for Florida Leadership Breakfast will honor the many strong women who made the campaign possible and celebrate the important leadership role women will play in the DeSantis-Nuñez Administration," stated a press release about the event.
Nunez will become Florida's third lieutenant governor, but the first Hispanic woman to hold the job.
Ashley Moody will be Florida's second female attorney general as Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried becomes the first full-time female Agriculture Commissioner.
Other events will be held throughout the week, where later on Monday Governor-elect Ron DeSantis will hold "The Thought Leaders Luncheon," that will highlight the top leaders of the state's private and public sectors, as they will talk about the Sunshine State's future.
DeSantis will also host events honoring military, veterans, and law enforcement officers from across the state.
On Tuesday, Spectrum News will be airing the Swearing in Ceremony of Florida's 46th governor live from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
