A brand new habitat has just opened inside Discovery Cove. The park’s flamingos get their own tropical digs.
Flamingo Point is an all-new spacious and immersive habitat nestled within lush landscapes. The theme park’s Caribbean Flamingos now get to spend their days there. The land used to be backstage. The park’s expansion now gives the beloved birds their own fenced in oasis, with a pool and tiki huts.
“It has been a long time coming,” said Discovery Cove Supervisor of Aviculture Kathleen Gass. “We’ve had flamingos in the park. The only way guests could see them in the past was during our morning walk.”
Park guests can’t walk inside Flamingo Point. But they can get right up against the wooded fence, and the notoriously curious birds will be inches away.
But the option to get even closer exists. You can upgrade your day with Flamingo Mingle, an exclusive opportunity to meet the flock up close and personal. Five percent of the proceeds from this upgraded experience supports Audubon Florida, helping to protect these magnificent birds and their habitats.
