Improvisers from all over the country are warming up in Central Florida right now – stoked for spontaneity and to entertain you.
1. The O-Town Improv Festival celebrates the art of improvisation and comedy, and is packed with workshops, performances, and networking.
2. Improv teacher Anthony Francis Cutaia founded it, thanks to instant attraction to Central Florida. “I came up here about five years ago and did an improv show with a friend in Sanford,” he said. “And I just couldn’t get the whole energy of Sanford out of my head. So I was like, I love it up here.”
3. The performances are rated PG-13 because of the nature of improvisational comedy. It’s off the cuff, and audiences can expect everything from musical improv, to short and long form improv, and even, virtual reality improv.
4. Some 165 improvisers are taking part. The Festival runs through Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the ME Theater in Orlando.
5. Tickets range from $10-15, depending on the day.
