“Life” is the biggest thing to happen in Orlando Science Center history.

  1. “Life” is an exhibit that the OSC started working on in 2015. It’s an all-new nature and conservation experience to reimagine the long-standing NatureWorks exhibit.

  2. Exhibits VP Brandan Lanman took Spectrum News around for a sneak peek at the construction site, including the swamp. “It’s been here since 1997,” he said, of the fan-favorite. “We opened the building with it. And we knew we’d have some challenges, but we also knew it has a lot of love.”

  3. Alligators, which were in the exhibit before construction started, will stay in the revamped swamp, but now, with different waterways and more places to bask. The Swamp is one of three distinct environments in “Life” — joining the Rainforest and the Ocean.

  4. This aviary is one of the spaces that will let visitors get closer to the birds and animals than they ever have at the OSC. It’s one way to embrace Florida’s biodiversity, from the inland to the coast. “The truth is, we only live 50 miles from the beach and many of our residents haven’t been,” Lanman said. “They don’t understand what kind of things are out there.”

  5. “Life” is scheduled for a grand opening in the spring of 2024 with 300 animals.
